Summary
The Organizing Committee of the 17th International Symposium on Health-Related Water Microbiology is glad to invite you to attend for the WaterMicro 2013, which will be held in Florianopolis Island, Santa Catarina, Brazil, from 15-20th September, 2013. This is a biennial event organized by the International Water Association (IWA) Specialist Group on Health-Related Water Microbiology (HRWM) founding in 1977 focused in all aspects of infectious diseases transmitted by water.
The event congregates experts working in many fields: from environmental to clinical virology, bacteriology and parasitology; from infectious diseases epidemiology to risk assessment evaluation; from water treatment engineering to environmental health practices. This is a valuable and unique opportunity for the scientific community, students and professionals to meet, exchange ideas, explore the state of the art and debate the key issues related to the importance of the microorganisms in water quality and its impact in the human health. This is also a great opportunity to encourage researches in the environmental microbiology focusing health protection in the Latin America and Caribbean region countries.
